Celebrating the 30th Anniversary of The Godfather: Part III, director/screenwriter Francis Ford Coppola brings a definitive new edit and restoration of the final film in his epic Godfather trilogy—Mario Puzo’s THE GODFATHER, Coda: The Death of Michael Corleone. Michael Corleone (Al Pacino), now in his 60s, seeks to free his family from crime and find a suitable successor to his empire. That successor could be fiery Vincent (Andy Garcia)… but he may also be the spark that turns Michael’s hope of business legitimacy into an inferno of mob violence. The film’s meticulously restored picture and sound, under the supervision of American Zoetrope and Paramount Pictures, includes a new beginning and ending, as well as changes to scenes, shots, and music cues. The resulting project reflects author Mario Puzo and Coppola’s original intentions of The Godfather: Part III, and delivers, in the words of Coppola, “a more appropriate conclusion to The Godfather and The Godfather: Part II.”’

Featuring: Al Pacino, Diane Keaton, Andy Garcia, Franc D’Ambrosio, Bridget Fonda, George Hamilton, Joe Mantegna, Talia Shire, Eli Wallach, Sofia Coppola, Raf Vallone

  1. In select theaters on December 4th? No thanks. I'll wait until December 8th and rent it digitally from the safety of my own living room on my 50' 4k HDR Roku TV.

  3. I held off seeing The Godfather III for years because of its reputation, but when I did watch it recently I was stunned to find a beautiful, romantic, tragic film that gave the series the ending it needed and gave Michael Corleone the ending he earned. Excited to see this recut version, but the original III is a great film as is.

  6. Since Sofia is missing from this trailer is it safe to assume he toned down all the 1st cousin incest? Her casting is what kind of ruined this movie the 1st time around.

  7. This is sad. So, what is new in this so-called coda? Not one shot in this trailer is new, not a single one. So, Coppola, 81, who hasn't made a mainstream film in 13 years, something noteworthy in 23 years, sat down and actually re-edited this? So that's what this is, a re-edit and a remaster? To everyone involved in this, let it go. You messed (I'm keeping it PG, if not I would use another word instead) when you made this, the Duvall fiasco is unforgivable and the less we say about Sofia the better.

  9. Most people didn't like Part III very much. I thought it was great!!! I thought it was good to bring the saga full circle. And I think this new version will make it even better! To me it said, this is the only way Michael can really be hurt…by losing his beloved, and very innocent daughter! KARMA at it's finest!

  10. NOT diverse enough for current year. Recast Michael as an incompetent, bitter, borderline rascist, white male and change the role of Vincent Corleone to a super intelligent independent and strong female. A Mary Sue type, who without experience easily masters all the skills of being a Godfather, and wipes out all the other families and takes over the mob in Italy and the US. Maybe Daisy Ridley could play that role. And a sassy sidekick could be added to the mixture. Kind of Chris Tuckerish effeminate possibly LGBTQ black non gender specific character. Now THAT is Oscar gold!

  11. I'm really looking forward to this. The Godfather Part 3 was a decent movie that sadly just couldn't compare to the previous two films. And I have seen director cuts that have saved movies far worse then this one. The Daredevil Director's cut is a good example. Still not exactly a good movie but far more watchable then the theatrical cut. So I'm really interested to se what a new cut could do for the third Godfather film.

  12. People don't realise Sofia Coppola's performance is brilliant. She plays the shallow daughter of a powerful man. Unfortunately people judged her as the shallow daughter of a powerful man. Her subsequent career as a filmmaker should have encouraged audiences to reevaluate her performance in this film. She is as much a talent as her father and brothers if not more so. Stop judging her, it's pure sexism.

  14. Can't wait. Love the movie. Haters can hate, I choose to love, accept and enjoy. 😁

As long as they re-edit the stroke scene where the actors stop, Pacino says something like "we fucked up"…… then it cuts to the scene continuing. Hehe. 😁
